Journey 2: The Mysterious Islandnow hits the big screen. It is the sequel of Journey to the Center of Earth. The journey begins when Sean (Josh Hutcherson) received a signal from a mysterious island located in a place no island should exist. Sean decided to find the island and his missing grandfather, played by Michael Caine. His new stepfather, (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) couldn’t stop him from going so he also joins the quest to find the island which is filled with astonishing secrets. The movie also stars High School Musical star, Vanessa Hudgens, as a beautiful, strong-willed daughter of a helicopter pilot and Luiz Guzman as the pilot helicopter.
For this WWE star, which is full of action, this movie can be considered a flick. So why did Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson agreed to star in the same scenes with today’s hotties, Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens? “I enjoy playing intense guys who hunt bad men down,” said Johnson. “But I also enjoy making a movie that the entire family can see. In the case of ‘Mysterious Island,’ it’s a big epic adventure. I’ve always felt that when you do a family movie right, there’s a character onscreen that every member of the family can relate to. That’s a cool and special thing.” What’s even more exciting for him is he’s sharing the producer role with Hank Parsons and get to say more than what’s on his script.
Among the big names, there’s one humble Canadian newcomer listed as the film director. Brad Peyton, whose first feature was "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore"says that the whole “Journey” has been an inspiring one. "The only way to get great, I think, is to be inspired by the great people ahead of you, to learn from them, to be humble enough to be like, 'Yeah, I've got to earn that place and I've got a long way to go but why would I not try to be that? Why would I not try to be great?'"
