The Muppets

The story revolves around three Muppets fans on a vacation in Hollywood, Los Angeles. There’s Walter, a Muppet who’s the world’s biggest Muppet fan and his biological yet human brother, Gary (Jason Segel) and his girlfriend, Mary (Amy Adams). The three are helping Kermit to reunite The Muppets by having The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the Muppet Theater from a greedy Tex Richman (Chris Cooper).  Tex Richman wants to destroy the theater and exploit the oil underneath! 

Unlike other modern films that work hard to entertain the audience with explosions, eye-popping CGIs, and “gritty” interpretations, Henson’s creations are still able to do without. That’s due to the characters’ sincere and charming personalities. For example, Walter, being the new Muppet on the block, is off to be a new fan-favorite for years to come. Segel, who did a tender and heartfelt performance in the puppet musical finale in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, stepped in as co-writer and executive producer of this movie. The story plot isn’t the most imaginative in the series, but it has the precise blend of social satire and genuinely appealing moments.
