In Time

Gilang Cempaka
20 Oct 2011

Revolving around a society where being wealthy means immortality, Will Salas (Justin Timberlake) is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time. He eventually tried to (might as well) bring down the system where the phrase “time is money” is literally tested! Wealthy people can just live forever, and the poor like Will have to beg, borrow and steal just to make it through another day. Will then goes on the run with Sylvia Weis (Amanda Seyfried), the daughter of a wealthy power broker.

"First of all, for me it's an action thriller. A lot of people just go to it on that level. They'll go for the car chases, they'll go to see Amanda Seyfried waving a gun in people's faces, which she does brilliantly. But some people do go for the ideas, because obviously it does say something about our desire to stay young forever. While we can't turn off the aging gene, we do go to a lot of extremes to stay young, I've noticed,” says writer/director Andrew Niccol.

One trivia that might interest you, Justin Timberlake is actually 3 years older than Olivia Wilde who plays his on-screen mother.
