Are They For Real?

MYTH: Wearing foundation with an SPF equals protection.

TRUTH: ALWAYS apply a sunscreen underneath. You need to wear an SPF of at least 30 on your face every day, and nobody puts on enough foundation to get that SPF value out of it. Keep in mind that we live in a hot climate and our skin is exposed to UV rays more than you can imagine.

MYTH: Cleanse your face at least twice a day.

TRUTH: Even gentle facial wash can be harsh if you use it twice a day. Using a face wash in the morning is just an excuse to go through more products. In the morning just wash your face with warm water, you can put off using your arsenal of products later in the day or before you go to bed.

MYTH: A complete skincare routine has three or more steps.

TRUTH: You heard that all the time:cleanse, tone, and moisturize. On the contrary, skipping the second step wouldn’t hurt. Oil is protective and produced in response of injury. When you strip your skin, it reacts by making a ton of grease. So when you think using a toner is the answer to eliminate oily skin, it actually is the cause!
